Time runs fast? No Way!

Most of the people I know and most of the people the people I know... know, tell me how fast the time goes on... I on the other hand think the opposite. For some strange reason, time goes really slowly for me, with no rushing. I mean, tomorrow is my birthday and yet it's like I waited an eternity! Every time someone asks me how old I am, I always mistake 15 with 16. That doesn't mean that I miss the old days when I was a young idiot knowing nothing of life and time as I do now(not that I know much), but still I'm not having that kind of adjustment to be a kid again. Something beneath tells me to grow up and realize great achievements in life, which I wonder if I'm ever going to 'realize'. Still, life goes on and so does time and there is nothing stopping them. What about you.... Do you have the same problems as I do, if you can even call them problems. You're free to share your thoughts right here, right now!

Calculator Progress

I'm happy to announce, that my calculator grows better and better with each day! From a simple number entering device, it now 'grew', to a simple secretary calculator armed with the simplest tasks a calculator can have, that is multiplication, division, subtraction and addition. The bad thing about the calculator though is it's 2x16 character LCD which is pretty expensive in my country and I don't know if it is any cheaper in other countries as well. But right now I'm not giving much of a thought about the "Bill of Materials" as I still haven't developed the 'hardcore' stuff of the calculator. There are also minor bugs that need to be cleaned and perhaps then I'll start thinking about mass production :D. Anyways, completing the basic structure of the calculator gives me liberty to start developing the 'special' functions of the calculator. I think I'll be starting with square root and powers since I have a math exam this Monday and I'll be needing a calculator to ... calculate such stuff, hence giving me the chance to show off my calculator to my class! These are also in my opinion, the simplest functions to be made at this point. Right now I don't have a picture to show it here but later on I'll add one as well.

Hackers are evil?

I hate the fact that most people use the word 'hacker' to describe crackers. Assholes that only know how to make the virtual world a much worser place than it is today! Crackers are nothing but idiots that keep repeating the same shit over and over again, while hackers come up all the time with new ideas! Nothing of the stuff crackers use today is new for us and there is nothing that actually helps mankind in any way. A hacker is someone that actually uses his skills and intelligence to create and build the virtual world as it is. It is they who keep the foundations stable, not all those "whana-be web makers" with all the blinking texts and pop-up shit, i mean why not keep the web pages simple and clean, pages that are capable to be read and actually CAN drag out some useful information from. Another thing that really pisses me off is the fact that people call hackers nerds... That is completely wrong. Most of the hackers train many sports, go out with friends and don't waste their whole day in their house reading stupid books like "Teach yourself programming in 1 month" Well, when i was in 8th grade, i bought such a book. When i tried to make a simple program on my own(after reading the whole book of course), i had to spend more than 2 hours trying to understand what was wrong and it was an example shown in the book(with a little changes i made on my own). After careful analysis I saw how many stuff i missed and I didn't know proving how USELESS it was for me to read this book! Luckily I gave away the book to a classmate, before the idea of putting the book into the nearest shredder came to me. A proof that hackers actually build stuff are all the open source applications that exist today, because open source gives other new-come hackers a way to better them selfs and bring birth to new ideas and develop new better applications. This brings me to another thing i hate... Closed Source... T me whats your opinion on this and please don't come to tell me how wrong I am cause I ain't!

My opinion about "anime movies"

I was 5 years old when I saw my first anime movie(which was a Pokemon episode), and my first reaction was... Damn, the way characters are drawn is so... not real. The way they talk, the way they express emotions, the way they do stuff, all is pretty funky. With one word they 'cease to be'
ordinary cartoons like most of the stuff they give on Cartoon Network(yes, I do watch Cartoon Network sometimes, or at least some of the movies, no I'm not ashamed to say so) which are cartoons, that can watched by adult people(for example Jim Carrey watches Johnny Bravo). Especially the ones like Pokemon, Yu-Ghi-Oh, Naruto... I stopped watching these when I was 9, but now I'm 15(16 soon) and I still watch Cartoon Network. So compare anime, stuff that people like me stop to watch at 9(or less) and ordinary animation(like The Simpsons) which people continue to watch even though they are older than 16. Having in mind that probably 1/4 of the world(just a thought) watches anime makes me sit back and think for a while. I mean what makes those people watch anime(like a friend of mine) instead of the ordinary cartoons wich clearly are 'better suited' for more grown up people(even though an adult should't watch cartoons). Think about it too and express your emotions about what said. I'll gladly take both bad and good replies!

A mutifunctional Calculator

Ever thought that you could communicate with someone while the surrounding people think that you're simply using an every day tool such as the calculator. The idea came to me yesterday while I was desperately trying to make something to better my skills with PIC Microcontrollers and saw an article by Myke Predko. In that article he explained that an LCD(Liquid Crystal Display) can by operated only by two pins of the microcontroller, which allowed me to add a 4x4 button keyboard(enough for a calculator). But I thought that a calculator with mostly all the math functions is cheaper than 4 dollars(2 dollars for the PIC16F628A and the other for components and test board). So I said to myself: "What if it's a calculator that sends messages to other calculators of the same type! That would totally be worth 4 dollars!" So, here's how the idea was born. What I plan for the calculator is that, it'll have a button to enter "Special" mode. In that mode, the user could choose to use the calculator as a messenger or to perform special math functions (such as sine, cosine, root, power, etc..). As a messenger (the good part) the calculator will receive a maximum of 6(undetermined) messages from other calculators and send messages to other. Ofcourse, if the user already has 6
messages and receives a new one, the first of the those is deleted and replaced by the new one.
A message will be deleted right after it's been red. Perhaps when I make the basic structure of the calculator, I would add nicknames and block systems. I'm really excited with this and I hope that my idea will become reality. I also hope that the idea is not already developed or under development.
Share your thoughts about the idea, or even give me ideas about it!
